Title: The Hills Are Bare (1/5)
Author: Knightmusic
Rating: PG-13
Pairing: Gil/Nick
Summary: Change really is a bitch. Sometimes you need help.
Disclaimer: These characters are so not mine, even though I asked Santa for them for Christmas. Guess I'll just have to be twice as good next year...

Author's Note/Warnings: Hey look, it's back! And this time, I really WILL get it posted before the end of the holiday season (I figure as long as I get it up before New Years, we can still call it seasonal), because it's nearly complete. I'll get parts posted as soon as I finish editing each one. And it's different this time. Yes, I know I'd originally said this was going to be a Gil/Greg piece but...well, I just can't seem to do it. I love Gil/Greg, and I'd really love the chance to write it sometime soon, but as far as my epics go, I can't seem to abandon Nicky. And this one just really wanted to be a bit of a "Grave Danger" follow-up.

This was written for the "Stump the Moderator" challenge at
grisskink. Challenge #1: Gil/Ecklie with breathplay.
Title: Taking the Heat
Author: Knightmusic
Rating: NC-17
Pairing: Grissom/Ecklie
Summary: Neither Gil nor Conrad are much good at discussing things. But actions really do speak louder than words.
Author's Note/Warnings: Heavy kink including Heavy BDSM, D/s dynamic, breathplay. Given that, I think you get the idea that this isn't a light, fluffy fic. As for what it IS, however....well, I'll have to leave that up to you to decide.
Disclaimer: No, I'm not Anthony Zuiker or Jerry Bruckheimer or anyone else that cool. No, I don't think I am either. No, I don't think I own any of the characters contained in this story. I'd have to be delusional to think such things, and I'm clearly not. Or maybe that's not so clear. Anyway, the point is that the boys aren't mine.

Title: The Balance of Power
Author: Knightmusic
Pairing: Gil/Nick
Rating: NC-17
Notes: The title is subject to change, as is quite a bit about the story. As always, consider this a beta-release. I'd be much obliged to people who leave feedback. Tell me what's working, tell me what isn't, and tell me why. The goal is customer satisfaction!
Disclaimer: Last time I checked, I don't spell my name A-N-T-H-O-N-Y Z-U-I-K-E-R. So I probably don't own CSI.
Summary: An AU, pre-series story. When Nick comes to Vegas, it's not to work in the crime lab. In fact, it's not really his idea at all. But he'll still be under Gil's supervision. His very close supervision.
( story here )
A very important one, at that! A rather lengthy AU, set pre-series. I've talked about this one, discussed it in various people's lj's, and finally come up with a plot with which to frame all the smut (cuz there'll be a heck of a lot. More porn, I say!).

So I always like it when my favorite authors post to let us know what they're working on. Let's me get good and excited about what to expect. Plus, if there are people out there who are wondering, I'd like to assure you that I AM working on stuff, even though you're not seeing it.
Okay, the big one: "Anthem." This is going well, which is a relief to me, cuz it kinda has a deadline. I HAVE to get this finished and posted before we get any Gil backstory, because I want this out there before canon trumps me. Anyway, here's what I'm working on so far:
( Plus, the idea of hanging around Vegas right now made his last remaining nerve scream. )
Next up, a one shot titled "Entendre." This is my heniously overdue submission for the Gil/Nick fic-a-thon. I'm GOING to finish it, damnit! Really, all I've got left is the porn.
( And now he was right back to bungling idiot again. )
Then two other biggies. First, "Elsa's Procession." I've been dying to write this one for MONTHS. It was the first hurt/comfort fic for Gil that I ever planned, but it keeps getting shoved to the back. I keep tinkering. One day it'll see light. Here's a bit, though.
( And then the world fell out from under her feet. )
And finally, "The Hills are Bare." Another one with a deadline (cuz really, who wants to read Christmas stories in March?). I'm DYING to get this one finished. There's so much about it that I'm excited about, and so much yummy Gil!angst on it's way. Plus an original character that I just ADORE. I'll have to come up with a reason to use him in one of my own novels some day.
But first I need to take Part 1 down and re-work it. I'd originally inteded this to be a Gil/Greg piece, but...well... As much as I love reading Gil/Greg, and really like the pairing, I just can't write it. At least not in an epic fic like this. I feel like I'm cheating on Nicky. Turns out Greg's role in the story is more powerful if he's not the love interest. And anyway, this story really isn't about the romance. I doubt we'll end up getting much more than a kiss or two.
And there you have it. My projects.
Title: Anthem, Book 1. Chapter 2: Didn't Want to Lose the Feeling
Pairing: Gil/Nick
Rating: R overall, NC-17 in places. And I warn you, those ratings aren't just because of iminent sweaty mansex. This story will contain disturbing content. Almost all said content will be implied, but still. Bad Things happen. To children.
Summary: Nick may be above ground, but that doesn't mean it's over yet, for him or Gil. Salvation awaits, and their paths now lie together, but on the way each will have to face his greatest fear.

Okay, after more revisions than I care to think about, this is really starting to come together. Some of this I've already posted here, but consider those beta versions. This is the real deal.

Title: In Search of a Reason (CONCLUSION)
Pairing: Gil/Nick
Rating: NC-17
Summary/Notes/Warnings: I'm guessing you've seen all of this by now: Mpreg, genetic mutation, bun in Gil's oven, worried!Gil, and a Nick who's surprisingly cool with the whole thing.
Final Author's Note: It's a funny thing that happens when you're in the final edit of a story. You may find that whole chapter suddenly don't have a place anymore. Yes, those scenes happened, yes they were necessary to write in order to understand the journey of the characters (for the author's sake, anyway), but the reader doesn't need them, and moreover they interfere with the overall flow. That was the case with the chapter that was supposed to preceede this one. I wrote several scenes of Gil and Nick in the hospital; recovering, being visited by everyone from Sofia to Nick's parents, and just bonding with each other and Daniel, and then realized that it didn't fit. It made the story awkward and unwieldy. So it's been cut, and we go directly to the epilogue.
I don't think this is the last we'll see of Gil, Nick and little Danny, because I've become terribly fond of them over the course of this story. I don't have plans for a major sequel, but I've seen little snapshots of their lives together down the road, and I may share those at some point. I may also share the aforementioned deleted chapter (as well as a few other scenes that I wrote, loved, and then left by the wayside for similiar reasons). But for the time being, my post-GD epic is calling to me, as are other unfinished projects, and in the meantime I'll leave you with this, which is an ending, and one I'm pleased with.

Additional Notes for this chapter: I'm so sorry that "a few days" turned into a week, but it took me a long time to hammer this into something I was actually happy with as opposed to something that merely worked. Most of the changes are superficial, with only some slight tweaking due to that fabulous information I got from elementalv and joannindw. And speaking of, those of you with any medical backround may notice that I've taken a few liberties with what would be actual procedure in a case like this. My reasoning is that some bits of realism are good ingredients for storytelling and some actually detract. I offer the following words of comfort to anyone who feels a little off-balance because of my artistic license; It's still a pregnant man. It couldn't happen in ANY way. ;)
Anyway. Previous parts are posted in this journal, and can also be found here. (when the memories feature is working)
